White Rap... Independent vs Main Stream Hip-Hop

Is there such a thing?

The highest selling hip-hop artist outside of 2pac (75 Million), Eminem (70 Million) just dropped his sixth album, if you count 8 Mile, since 1999. 10 Years 5 solo albums; Em's first 2 albums they were Lyrical and Production blueprints; far less cartoon more real life. Tupac dropped 8 albums after he died and 14 total, thats what the realest artists do. To me Em was a fad,  he ran out of rhymes; anyone that has listened to his new album, Re-up, Encore probably agrees. On Relapse he talks of rape and mass murder, WTF with so much going on in the world Em aka Mr. Name Dropper, looks small minded and selfish by ignoring his fans while solely focused on controversy and profiteering. Em's album is transparent, he dropped this solely for the money, he can sell multi-millions off name alone and good for him. Em fucked up though, this album fails for two reasons, one its his worst album to date. And two, he failed to respond to the challenge by his sole competition.. STAK..

The title states white rap.. 60%-70% of hip hop consumers are white. The majority of consumers are white does that mean that rap is white.. The majority of of rappers are black so does that mean that rap is black. I say no to both. Rap is an art, its a skill that is not exclusive to any color or creed, your born with it or not. Real rappers know this. I can give a fuck what the artist looks like, give me a dope beat, words that contain meaning, rhyme scheme, thought process, and extraordinary concepts. Thats what rap is to me...

Bubba Sparxxx first drop was ill. On Dark Days and Bright Nights I'd only skip 2 songs. The second album Timberland ruined him with that production and the failed attempt in conforming Bubba to the industry standard(Em).IMO.. The Charm Bubba's 3rd was good but had 11 tracks and 2 of them were pre-released on the Big Boi's Purple Ribbon. Seems like he ran outta rhymes too.

Paul Walls People's Champ only missed on 3 songs. His second album didn't have one memorable track. It seemed that Wall lost his hunger.

Which White Boy has dropped the most albums?

Haystak- first release was in september of 98' Mak Million. Stak has dropped 13 albums and two mix-tapes since 98'. To put it another way Stak has released 2 albums every year since 2005 independently. Thats on Pac's level. Those that haven't listened to a full album should. He's worked with the souths Living Legend 8-Ball, Bun. B, Young Buck, Gangsta Black(ya most don't know who he is but that track wit them two is raw.) as well as Stak's stable of white rappers repp-in the CWB. Haystak also played a small role in the movie Hustle and Flow.
Stak is currently touring the south. I recently saw my first Stak show, he got the club real live, it was a sing a long. I've been to many a shows and Stak interacts with the fans like no other rapper i have ever scene. Humbleness and acceptance is not what rappers are known for, yet Stak brings that approach to every show.

Longevity is rare in this game; more people might know who one hit wonders Mims and Young Dro are, but does that mean that they are more skilled?
I'm not a big Fat Joe fan but Joey Crack is underestimated in the same way that Haystak is. People fail to realize that independents Like Stak, Joe, Killer Mike are getting $5-$8 per CD. While major label artists like Em, Paul Wall, Mims get $.50-$2 per unit. Do the math, in many cases these independent artists are getting 4 times more per unit than those rappers you see on TV.

Hip-hop like most business, especially entertainment industries xerox what works. From T-pain's Auto-Tune to Bill Bellicheck and the New England Patriots Spy Gate. When it comes to copycat artists Asher Roth is sane Eminem clone, rhyme scheme and vocal mix all the same. Exactly what TV wants.

When you ears start hurting from all the same sounding artists on the radio or on TV, the medicine can very well be Haystak's newest album Came a Long Way. I also have to recommend Crackavelli a double CD that is only out done by 2pac's double CD All Eyes on Me. And for those that can't get past the fact that a big fat country boy can out rap just about anyone in the game, close your eyes, listen and forget about color. Seriously, it 2009 race shouldn't be an issue. Its not black its not white its music. Music is more than MTV and BET, try something new in Stak a wordsmith that has a decade of rhymes with the best still to come...

A quotable' from Stak that answers what the haters say most.
